Token commemorating David Garrick, portrait bust on obverse, masks of tragedy and comedy and the inscription, 'SIMS RUSSELL COURT', on reverse, designed by C. James, after 1779
Physical description
Medal. Obverse: portrait bust of David Garrick, profile, facing viewer's right, with quotation above and maker's name below. Reverse: the masks of Comedy and Tragedy in profile; Comedy, facing viewer's left, with a trumpet through the eye hole, and Tragedy, facing viewer's right, with a sword through the eye hole. With a thistle between them at top and above it a crown, with an inscription giving the name and address of the issuer. Below the masks, two laurel branches, crossed.
