George Lucas's six Star War films were released between 1977 and 2005. The first one, Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) became the most successful film in history and grossed over $290 million. It was not only the film that became a success but also the mechandising that was produced along side the film. The films captured the public's imagination and paved the way for the merchandising that accompanies many films today. A whole host of toy figures, spacecrafts and vehicles were available, as well as costumes, stationery, bedroom accessories and slippers.
This toy figure is of the character Leia.In the film she is the twin sister of Luke Skywalker. She is captured by the dark side and is rescued by her brother and Han Solo. This toy was produced under the Kenner trademark by Hasbro in 1996 and was known as the Power of the Force Range 2.

There is a image of the character Darth Vader in the top left corner and the Star Wars logo on the top right. In the bottom left corner is a image of the character Leia from the film. The back of the packet shows other examples of characters you can collect. |
