Illustration of the rolling set used in the opera Parsifal as performed for the first time in England at Covent Garden in February 1914. The rolling scenery was designed and painted by Mr Joseph Harker. The scenery; painted on canvas and mounted on rollers to enable it to continually move with the music, stretched an eighth of a mile and was used to represent the journey through the mountains to the castle of Monsalvat. Two illustrated articles are printed on the reverse. Published in an illustrated review.
