George Lucas's six Star War films were released between 1977 and 2005. The first one, Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) became the most successful film in history and grossed over $290 million. It was not only the film that became a success but also the mechandising that was produced along side the film. The films captured the public's imagination and paved the way for the merchandising that accompanies many films today. A whole host of toy figures, spacecrafts and vehicles were available, as well as costumes, stationery, bedroom accessories and slippers.

This figure of robot R2-D2 is from Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith. There is a picture on the left hand side of the package of the character from the film who was played by Kenny Baker. The actor could not be seen as he was inside the robot.

Physical description
Star Wars figure of R2-D2 in a blister pack. The pack has a printed background and is cut into the shape of Darth Vader's head. The top of the card is cut to allow it to hang on a peg for shop use. The plastic cover is domed and the figure is held in the centre. There is a picture of the charatcer from the film on the left-hand side. In the centre at the bottom is the Star Wars logo with the film title below, Revenge of the Sith. On the right hand side are the words "Droid Attack!".
