Lohengrin was chosen to open the Silver Jubilee Season of Grand Opera at Covent Garden and this photograph features Lotte Lehmann as Elsa, Max Hirzel as Lohengrin (Lauritz Melchior took over the role at the last minute due to Hirzel becoming ill), Alexander Kipnis as Heinrich der Volger and Arnold Matters as Heerrufer des Königs.
