Place of origin |
Although this game does not have a definite maker its box design with a green label indicates that it was probably made by John Jaques, a very important games manufacturer of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, and a company that is still in existence today. Most fishing games of the late Victorian period were very colourful boxed sets with a card "pond" that folded out and very realistic fish made of the same material. This example is very different and has quite complicated rules invented by Alfred Seeley.
