Sequels released in 1980 and 1983 were equally successful. The films captured their imagination and paved the way for the merchandising that accompanies many films today. A whole host of toy figures, spacecrafts and toy guns were available, as well as costumes, stationery, bedroom accessories and slippers.

Physical description | The box is mainly black with highlights of red. It has the words 'Star Wars Episode 1' along the top in gold and white. 'Anakin Skywalker's Podracer' is also written along the bottom in white. There is a small acrylic rectangle in the bottom right corner of the box to see what is inside. There is also a picture of the Podracer on the front, which has two gold cylinder engines held together by a black strip. This is then attached to the podracer which is a grey car with blue stripes on which hold the character, Anakin Skywalker. |
