Star Wars: A New Hope was released in 1977. The first film of George Lucas' trilogies was the most successful in American history and grossed over $290 million. Sequels released in 1980 and 1983 were equally successful. The films captured children's imagination and paved the way for the merchandising that accompanies many films today. A whole host of toy figures, spacecrafts and toy guns were available, as well as costumes, stationery, bedroom accessories and slippers.

Jabba Glob is based on the character Jabba the Hutt from Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace'. He made his first visual appearance in the third Star Wars film, Return of the Jedi, where he was introduced as a gangster.

The figure is a long, dark green creature with a paler chest and brown eyes. Its long tail curves back toward its body. It comes with a pot of slime which is black with a green lid, and two dark green insects.
