This petticoat, worn with a Jacques Fath haute couture wedding dress, is a typical example of lingerie during the post-war period and early 1950s. Made a decade after the close of the war, the petticoat illustrates the transformation of undergarments from a basic necessity during war-time to an elegant part of a fashionable wardrobe. This white nylon design features a lace bodice and lace ruffled hem.
