This wooden glove stretcher was intended to be sold alongside the gloves manufactured by Les Gants Trefousse. Its tongs would be inserted into a glove to gently enlarge its body and fingers for the wearer. Les Gants Trefousse, founded in 1892 by Jules Tefousse, was a glove manufacturer that originated in Chaumont, France and eventually sold their designs around the world.
