This light is designed to resemble a chain of flowers, and was created by multidisciplinary artist Jessica Shaw for British high street chain, Habitat where it formed part of their Winter Season 2003-4. Based on the traditional Christmas fairy lights, the folded flowers can be hung as a chain or coiled together to produce a large, single hanging floral light.
The light was initially conceived as a display for a friend's wedding before the artist perceived the design's potential for mass production. It was displayed in the exhibition 'Brilliant: Lights and Lighting', V&A Contemporary Space from 12th February to 25th April 2004.
