Place of origin |
Made of white leather, this aviator's cap features three functional side press studs and a silver coloured buckle on the right side of the forehead. Created by sports retailer Lillywhites - purveyor of quality sporting goods - this aviator's cap was worn by London socialite Cecile Tonge Stuart. Though this cap was sold by a mainstream retailer, at this time, aviation was still considered daring and exciting. A licensed female aviator, Stuart embodied the glamorous mix of risk and modern technology associated with flying.
