Sindy is a British fashion doll originally created in 1963 by Pedigree Dolls and Toys as a rival to Barbie. She had a more wholesome look, which made her the best selling doll in the United Kingdom in 1968 and 1970. Hasbro then bought the rights to Sindy and remodelled her to look more American in order to appeal to that particular audience.

In the early 1990s there was a legal battle between Sindy and Barbie. Mattel, the owners of Barbie, felt that Sindy's new look was too similar to Barbie. Barbie won her case in court and Sindy was forced to change her look again. Currently, Sindy is aimed at a pre-school aged audience because other dolls such as Barbie and Bratz now dominate the original pre-adolescent target audience Sindy was originally intended for. Mya is part of the Sindy 'petite' range, intended for girls aged 5-8 years old. The dolls come with petite fashion accessories and a gift for the child.

Boxed petite Sindy doll. The doll has long brown hair and is dressed in an orange coat, blue top and jeans. The doll comes with a flavoured lip gloss and stickers for the child, and an orange bag and pink hairbrush for the doll. The box is acrylic with printed card at the back. The word 'Sindy' is printed in pink across the front of the box.
