CASE FOR A PAIL FOR HOLY-WATER. The container consisting of two pairs of layers of wrought and sewn leather, the outermost layer decorated in relief; no lining. Cap consisting of one pair of layers; no lining. Brown leather rubbed and worn inside, and on the outside now mostly sable.

Cylindroid form, swelling towards the top. On the container within plain opposite columns, a pair of eyes, and on the cap a corresponding pair, for a broad flat thong long wanting.

On the flat top, a blank shield for arms filled later by an incised representation of a church within curled stems of pods and leaves, all on smooth, slight, relief, against a stippled ground. Round the sides of the top, a wavy stem containing oak-leaves. Round the sides of the container, a design of curled stems as on the top. Plain base.
