Prada, led by head designer Miuccia Prada, is an influential and commercially successful ready-to-wear design house. This ensemble, from the Spring/Summer 2008 collection, showcases Prada's key look (an ensemble of trousers, top and accessories) from that season. The sinuous, stylised textile print derives from a drawing by illustrator James Jean. Prada commissioned a film entitiled 'Trembled Blossoms', animating this drawing. The four minute film employs Jean's ink drawings to conjure up a lush and mysterious landscape enriched with flowers and nymphs. In this outfit, Jean's striking print is featured on both the top and trousers.

Leather, velvet and suede
The sinuous, stylised floral motif for Prada’s Spring/Summer 2008 collection derives from drawings by Taiwanese American illustrator James Jean. Designer Miuccia Prada applied the motif to textile prints and footwear. Prada also commissioned a short animated film using Jean’s drawings. The film, launched in Prada’s New York ‘Epicenter’ store, is a narrative fantasy depicting a lush, immersive landscape.
