Stereoscope and slides, splayed rectangular box of rosewood with 2 lenses set in a hinged flap at the front and a screen of ground glazz at the back. In the top is a hinged panel with a small mother of pearl handle, on the underside of which is a mirror to reflect light onto the stereocard. It is held in place by a metal clip which fits on either side of the central panel inside. The interior is painted black. Metal clip at the right-hand side prevents the card falling out.
