A black hinged box made from tinplate, with an inner hinged lid, which when opened reveals ten square-shaped blocks of paint in two rows, with space each side for six refills wrapped in paper printed with details of the colour. There are five refills and two tubes of paint. The inner box is white. There are two paintbrushes, one thick (Reeves No. 5) and one more fine (Reeves No. 10).
