Train locomotive pedal toy, made from plywood and metal, painted red with a green and yellow trim. Inside the cab is a seat for a child and a steering wheel. At the cab front are two holes, and also two holes on the sides. At the front and back of the locomotive are two wooden buffers. The tubular 'boiler' is metal, as are the two funnels, painted red, green and yellow. The headlamp is a chrome dome. The whole is mounted on a metal framework consisting of the pedal mechanism, front steering and four wheels, painted blue with rubber tyres. The steering wheel is cast metal, painted white.

Object history | This toy and Misc.307-1984 were both used by children at the Chalk Nursery School, Gravesend, and were donated by Mr and Mrs J.M. Cox upon the school's closure in July 1983 [83/1919] On entry to the Museum its condition was noted as 'well used; steering wheel is broken at the pivot where it attaches to the rod. Left side chromed hubcaps are missing' |
