This border is from the logbook of the wallpaper manufacturers Arthur Sanderson & Sons, where it is described as ‘Archer’s cornice’. It imitates the decoration on the cyma reversa moulding on Greek Ionic cornices, for example, of the Erectheum in Athens. At its base is a strip of bead and reel pattern.
