Object history | The donor stated that the trophy was bought unused in a shop in Bangor, North Wales, within a few weeks of V.E. Day (May 1945). It was hung in their front porch for V.E. Day, V.J. Day (August 1945), the coronation of Elizabeth II (June 1953) and the wedding of the Prince of Wales (July 1981). Miss Olga Estermann gave this object to the Museum in 1982 [81/1803]. |
Production | The flags included are not the same as those shown on the envelope. The presence of the American and Brazilian flags suggests a production date of 1917/18. |
