The box is Set 12, made of polished wood with with brass corner pieces and a sliding lid which is broken in half. The top of the lid has a decorative label giving the title in English and German and the US patent date October 26,1880. The squirrel trademark, registered in 1886, is at the centre top. The underside of the lid shows the suggested repacking of the works and various pictures of exhibitions medals won.
