Black cast metal stereoscopic viewer which folds flat and opens to be used. When opnen there is a flat base with two hinged sides (along the bases longest sides). One side has two circular holes with glass inserts which magnify the images. Between the eyeholes is a place for the nose/ At the top of this side is a clip which holds the stereoscope closed when not in use. The other hinged side has opened slots and grooves into which images can be slotted and viewed through the opposite side. The udnerside of the base ans exterior od the viewing side is finished in a marble effect. The glass circles held in place by three metal feet. The outer-casting of the box is rectangular and patterned in yellow, red, black and white. The top of the box reads '3-D VistaScreen ten views Burghley House series c.169. For use with the VistaScreen Viewer'. Base is plain yellow. 3-D booklet which slots into the outer-casting reads 'Ten Views the VistaScreen 3.D. Booklet Burghley House Series C.169, Stamford, Lincolnshire.' The booklet is rectangular folded on one side back on itself. The underside reads 'Made in England'. There are ten-pieces of card, each with a description in the centre and two identical photographs on either side, all marked Burghley House Series C.169. The rooms depicted are (in ascending part number); The Heaven Room, Queen Elizabeth's Room, The Billiard Room, The Brown Drawing Room, The State Dining Room, The North Front, The State Bedroom, The Chapel, The South Front, The First George Room.
