Baby doll, socket head and bent limb body, brown glass sleeping eyes, moulded hair painted black, open mouth showing two lower teeth; mouth and nose details are painted red. All over colouring is very dark brown.

Object history
Given by Mrs Peggy Machin (86/1865). The doll was orignally bought in 1935 at a toyshop on Essex Road, Islington for 2/6. On entry the condition was noted as 'elastic has broken and body is in parts; broken piece at base of head; eyes and their supports loose; slight wear on the joints. This doll may be kept in pieces to show construction'

The doll's clothes were knitted by the donor's aunt.
