Female marionette of painted wood depicting Gretel. Pink head with painted featyres and blond hair with two plaits and an alice-band of coloured felt flowers. Wears a brown shirt with sleeves and red bodice decroated with green ric-rac braiding covered wth a green frigne shawl. Her legs and lower torso are painted pink and she has white painted socks and green shoes. She has multi-coloured cotton thread stips attached to a pair of crossed wooden bars. The box is yellow and printed with illustrations of a range of puppets as well as 'Handmade Puppets for Children with Fully Illustrated Instructions'.
