Costume for a Sacrificial Attendant in Fokine's ballet Le Dieu bleu designed by Leon Bakst, Diaghilev Ballet 1912. Skirted costume in fine white wool with pendant sleeves. There are areas of the chest, front and back in olive grey jersey to suggest the naked skin of the attendant. The shaped chest band and collar in white cotton trimmed with composition roundels, wooden studs, gold braid and cord designs. Two panels under the divided skirt are set with silk triangles and around the skirt is a blue braid line forming a stylized flower with a blue triangle at centre front.
