Brief description
Part of room setting, England or Germany, ca. 1700-99
Physical description
Part of Queen Anne Doll's House room setting, including miniature furniture and other accessories
Gallery label

The top of the round table can be tilted up to save space. Just like full-size tables, it has a brass clip to secure it when used to serve tea.
English baby houses were individually ordered from cabinetmakers. These makers also supplied the furniture to mirror the latest adult fashions. Many buyers personalised the interiors by choosing fabrics and paint colours.
Object history
The original doll's house and accessories was purchased in 1877 from Mrs. Mrs. Jane Frances Thornhill by the Educational Division of Science Museum. Together with W.41-1922, they were transferred to Bethnal Green Museum in 1904.
