Costume for a female dancer in the Mazurka in Petipa's ballet The Sleeping Princess designed by Leon Bakst, Diaghilev Ballet, 1921. Oyster satin dress with sleeves bands, gold banded sash on the left shoulder and a minute white silk cape bound in gold braid on the right. The hooped skirt is edged with artificial forget-me-nots and appliqued with a formalized flame pattern in silver tissue and a gold braid trellis set with gilt buttons. The skirt is looped up, revealing an oyster moire silk petticoat trimmed with silver braid.
