Costume for a Marquis in Petipa's ballet The Sleeping Princess designed by Leon Bakst, Diaghilev Ballet, 1921, consisting of:
18th century coat of royal blue repp painted with gold ornate scrolls, the facings and border of silver tissue threaded with turquoise silk and inset panels of bottle green. The green velvet cuffs are edged with silver braid and threads of turquoise silk, painted with gold floral scrolls. The false waistcoat is barred with gold braid.
Green velvet knee breeches.
Wide brimmed bottle green felt hat trimmed with silver lace and gold braid with dark and bright green ostrich feathers.
