Tunic and belt designed by Leon Bakst for a Pirate or Shepherd in Fokine's ballet Daphnis and Chloe, Serge Diaghilev's Ballets Russes 1912. Knee-length tunic of bistre heavy cloth with wide round neck and short sleeves cut in one with the body stencilled with stylized overlapping 'leaves' in grey blue outlines. Down the centre front, and around sleeves are bands of off white wool stencilled with grey lines. Around the neck is a circular collar similarly decorated, and there is a similar band at the hem. Down centre front is an off white panel stencilled with lozenges.

The white belt has a 6.5 cm blue-grey band round the centre and a name at the end on the outside. Both belt and tunic include stamps
