Indigo tunic stencilled with white lozenges. The circular collar and white cuffs of the short sleeves are set with orange bands. At the hem is a rosine band appliqued with black chevrons. Belt of white wool with broad central orange wool band. Blue cloak stencilled with black squares. At one end is a broad band of black wool with bands of rosine wool, reddish brown wool and checks of rosine wool.

Costume designed by Leon Bakst for a Brigand in Mikhail Fokine's ballet Daphnis and Chloe, Diaghilev's Ballets Russes 1912.
Physical description
Indigo tunic stencilled with white lozenges. The circular collar and white cuffs of the short sleeves are set with orange bands. At the hem is a rosine band appliqued with black chevrons. Belt of white wool with broad central orange wool band. Blue cloak stencilled with black squares. At one end is a broad band of black wool with bands of rosine wool, reddish brown wool and checks of rosine wool.
