Wooden Pluto puppet of carved and painted wood, jointed at the head, shoulders, top of the legs, knees and ankles. Pluto has thin straight legs with dome-shaped feet, an hour-glass shaped body, thin neck and head with painted facial features including open mouth and upturned nose. He has a brown felt tail and red felt tongue. His body is painted yellow and had a wooden red neck collar. The control is to a wooden cross, stamped "Pelham Puppet". The strings are black thread, tied to the control and attched to the body by metal hooks. String is used in the legs and neck. The dog comes with a cardboard box, printed witha blue and red paper label on the lid. Marked 'A Walt Disney Character, copyright Walt Disney Productions, Made in England'. Box of lid stamped 'Pluto' and also contains a general instructions sheet and a letter from the Pelpup Club. The letter has been signed in pencil by Hilary Thomas in 1955.
