Wig

early 20th century (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Wig made from silver wire, worn in an unknown production. Most wigs for the stage are made from human or animal hair, knotted into a net base - these materials are flexible and light to wear under the hot stage lights. This metal wig would have been very hot and heavy to wear on stage, but would have a dazzling visual effect under the lights.
