About 1966
During the early-to-mid 1960s, The Who’s fashions placed them at the forefront of Mod subculture. Bassist John Entwistle’s jacket is emblazoned with heraldic symbols: the red lion of the banner of Scotland and the yellow lions of the Royal Arms of England. A Union Jack blazer would later become a wardrobe staple for bandmate Pete Townshend.
