It shows a creature with a horse-like head and copious 'fur' round the neck and cuffs of this costume as well as a mane down the centre back of the tunic.

Physical description
Long sleeved long tunic that formed part of the costume dsigned by Natalia Goncharova for a creature in the train of Kostchei in Fokine's ballet The Firebird created for Serge Diaghilev's Ballets Russes, 1926. Cotton costume painted orange with variously shaped areas of yellow splotched with gray. Traces of long black hanging fringes to sleeves and the 'mane' centre back.
