DIP-DYED SILK DRESS
Prada, Spring/Summer 2004
Silk with beaded appliqué
Fashion cognoscenti have adopted Miuccia Prada’s jolie laide aesthetic as an urban uniform. Even
as her design choices contradict convention,
they simply result in further devotion. This silk
dress deliberately counters tradition by using a made-at-home technique – dip-dyeing – for a
high-fashion garment.
