Entitled 'In the Wings with Magnesium Flare' a note from the artist on the back of this rough sketch appears to have been presented to William Sawyer as a gift. Whether or not William Sawyer is the subject of the painting is unclear. The image is dated January '77'.

In the foreground a man, in rough trousers, cap and blue jacket, stands with his left arm outstretched, holding a dark grey object. A small girl, dressed in a simple white dress, stands by his side, watching.
