Place of origin |
Frampton was once described as being ‘obsessed with dream and mysticism’. His evocation of the medieval queen, St Elizabeth of Hungary, is modelled with morose elegance in dark coloured wax. This was intended as a finished wax rather than as a model. The headdress is related to those on Frampton's figures on the facade of Lloyd's Registry of Fishing in London.
