This print was published by the Society of Dilettanti in Volume 1 of Ionian Antiquities, in 1769. It was one of the earliest works to make surveys of real Greek buildings and it shows a capital entablature and cornice found near the temple of Athene Polias at Priene (about 334 BC). The National Art Library also holds a copy of the series.
This print was engraved by Thomas Miller after Nicholas Revett, and it shows a Greek capital in the Doric order. It is shown with an undecorated echinus finishing in a set of bands. The flutings of Greek Doric columns normally have no flat moulding between them.
