Vase of porcelain painted with enamels and gilded in 'Japanese style'. Pilgrim's bottle shape with an imitation of a carved stand. The clay body is sprinkled with gold, and within a sunken circular medallion on each side is represented in relief, in imitation of lacquer and inlaid ivory, a figure group of men engaged in the manufacture of pottery. On one side three men are depicted, with one sitting on a chair to paint a large vase, another glazing a small bowl and the third pouring glaze out of a vase. On the other side four men sit decorating bowls, whilst another sits separately decorating a vase.
