The cartoon was submitted in the competition for the decoration of Westminster Hall, 1843. After the competition it was cut into sections, of which the V&A has three (CIRC.476-1920, E.3931-1920, E.3932-1920), as well as a reduced copy of the complete cartoon (CIRC.475-1920).
