Object history | The name “Edward Cavendish Drake” is considered to be a pseudonym, not used by any individual author, but rather one invented by the London publishing firm of J. Cooke at Shakespeare’s Head in Pater-Noster Row, alongside a number of existing travel accounts going under the title 'A NEW UNIVERSAL COLLECTION OF AUTHENTIC AND ENTERTAINING VOYAGES AND TRAVELS, FROM THE EARLIEST ACCOUNTS TO THE PRESENT TIME....' There is nothing on record in regard to this name for an individual person apart from the fact that it appears on the title pages of this volume. |
