In the distance, the Arab Mayor is visible between two Turkish police bearing white flags of surrender. The soldiers in the foreground are Sergeants Hurcomb and Sedgwick of the 2-19th Battalion, 60th (London) Division. Signed 'McBey' and in ink 'James McBey'. Inscribed '9 December 1917 Jerusalem', and numbered in ink 'XLIV'.
