Engraving depicting six designs for chair backs. In the top left the design features three poles and a foliage border along the top of them and a feature in the middle.
In the top right there are two poles with overlapping ovals creating three gaps which have been filled. In the outer two there is a vase with foliage above, and in the centre one there is a female figure standing on a pedestal.
The two designs in the middle both have solid studded backs with a frieze above them. On the left there is an oval section with a depiction of a seated female figure in front of a vase on a pedestal, and on either side of the oval section is festooned decoration. On the right the frieze has a female figure in the centre holding on to festooned decoration which is attached on either side to either an ornament.
The bottom two designs feature a solid studded back but in a circular shape with foliage design around them, and with a frieze design above. On the left the frieze features an oval section in the centre depicting a nude female figure feeding an animal, possibly a dog. On either side of this section there is festooned foliage decoration. On either side of chair back there is a thin oval section depicting a female figure and foliage above and below it. On the right, the frieze design features a repeating pattern of either feathers or leaves.
