Cast Courts Reinstallation, 27 November 2018 6. 'London: Westminster Casts and Architectural Museum' Photographer unknown, 1851-57 The Architectural Museum, formed in 1851, held a vast and wide-ranging collection of casts. It included examples given by prominent art critic, John Ruskin, and architectural models that were used to guide the design of the Houses of Parliament. The Royal Architectural Museum was based in Westminster until 1857, was housed within the V&A until 1869, and then moved to premises in Tufton Street. When it closed there in 1916, many of the casts returned to the V&A. REPRODUCED FROM Albumen print Westminster, London Museum no. 33724 (27 November 2018)
