Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Cassone of polished chestnut wood inlaid with marquetry; terminal figures at the corners; in the centre a shield of arms in relief. This and No. 4357-1857 form a pair, together they represent the arms of the two families united by marriage. The arms on this cassone, a weighing scale and chief, are probably those of the Marchesini of Vincenza. The early register suggests that the arms are of the family of Naldi of Faenza.
