Breeches for the Rake worn by Robert Helpmann, David Wall and Hendrik Davel in the Mad Scene of Ninette de Valois' ballet 'The Rake's Progress', first performed by the Vic-Wells (now Royal) Ballet, Sadler's Wells Theatre, London, May 20th 1935. The music for the ballet was composed by Gavin Gordon, the scenario was based by the composer on the paintings of William Hogarth, and the sets & costumes were designed by Rex Whistler.
