This relief in gilt bronze represents Emperor Trajan as Victor over the Dacians and the Emperor Marcus Aurelius as Victor over the Parthians. This was probably made in South Germany in about 1550-1600, and intended to be applied to a casket. The composition is based on reliefs from classical triuphal arches.
