This drawing was made as a record of a project which Nash undertook whilst he was artist-in-residence at the sculpture park in Grizedale Forest in 1978. It shows five sketches for a grafted tree sculpture, to be created in the forest. It is inscribed with notes and instructions, and with the proposed dates for each stage in the living sculpture's growth and development.
