The firm of Bisson Frères was highly prolific. Louis-Auguste originally trained as an architect, and the brothers quickly became renowned for their architectural views. This picture captures the richness and intricacy of the lace-like façade of the town hall. The blurred figure in the foreground reminds the viewer of the long exposure time necessary for the precise rendering of architectural details.
