Silk programme with integral silk fringe top and bottom. Printed in blue lettering on cream silk, featuring the royal crest top centre above the heading ROYAL ITALIAN OPERA COVENT GARDEN. Produced for the evening of 2 July 1889, the state visit of Queen Victoriua in honour of the Shah, and printed with the evening's programme which included the mad scene from Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor; the fourth act of Gunoud's Faust; songs by Marie Roze, Ella Russell and Madame Nordica, and one act of Boito's Mefistofele.
